How the shutter works

Overview

  1. The shutter window. Click it to see where and how the shutter fits.
  2. These are the limit switches to control the shutter position. Click any one of them to see a close-up demonstration picture of how they operate.
  3. This is the filter wheel limiter lever. Click it to see a better view.
  4. The gear that drives the shutter back and forth. The holes are, obviously, to reduce the moment of inertia. We're thinking about getting a new one with spokes.
  5. This little window is where the solenoid encoder fits (on the other side of the plate).
  6. Once the shutter blade is in, a cover goes on over all this. Click there to see how it looks.
