Dwarf Galaxies on the Shoulders of Giants

Air Travel: Cleveland is served by Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE).

Ground Transport: The airport is located to the west of the city; Case Western Reserve University is in University Circle on the east side, about 18 miles away.

By airport taxi ($47), or uber it is about a half hour ride.

By public transport: take the red line light rail (locally referred to as "the rapid"; the current fare is $2.50) from the lower level of the airport.

The airport is the western-most stop of the rapid. University Circle is served by two stops: Cedar-University and Little Italy. These are 41 and 43 minute rides, respectively. Cedar-University is closer to the campus meeting venue and the Tudor Arms hotel; the Little Italy stop is closer to the Glidden House, Courtyard hotel, and many restaurants and museums. All of these destinations are within a ~10 minute walk from the respective stop (see map below). It would be a bit of a schlep to drag a suitcase from the Little Italy stop to the Glidden House, but it is quite doable. Be sure to head west under the tracks, not uphill into Little Italy itself.

The Glidden House provides breakfast. It is convenient to the restaurants of Uptown and Little Italy and museums of University Circle It is about a 10 minute walk from the conference venue on campus. Maybe 15 given the construction planned around the Thwing center (on campus in the most direct diagonal walking path).

Other nearby hotels include

and the Tudor Arms hotel.

The Marriot is convenient to both the venue and local restaurants. The Tudor Arms is close to the meeting venue, but requires crossing two major streets to reach campus. They also run a shuttle to campus.
