These authors note that MOND generally works well, but has trouble with
NGC 3109. Actually, it gets the shape of the rotation curve right, but
the normalization appears to be wrong. Note that since the stellar mass is
negligible in this galaxy, their "fit" is essentially a zero parameter
prediction. Since it gets the shape right but not quite the normalization,
one might suspect that either the distance or the HI flux is a bit off.
This will have a big effect on the "fit" since
M ~ D2. This has already been discussed for this
galaxy by Begeman et al (1991).
